Volunteer Opportunities
Emergency Services:
Disaster Action Team (DAT) - Team of volunteers ready to
assist victims of small family fires by providing food, shelter,
clothing, and emergency medical needs.
Major Disaster Worker - Assist victims of large scale
disasters such as earthquakes, floods, or fires. Usually
this involves participation in the Disaster Services
Human Resources (DSHR) program.
Community Emergency Preparedness Speaker - Provide
educational information to community groups on emergency
preparedness such as fire, flood and earthquake.
Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) Team Member -Provide
food service to local disaster reponders and to disaster
victims. Our ERV is frequently dispatched to disasters in
other parts of the country.
Communications Team - Provide emergency radio
communications during a disaster. Also assist in the
operation and maintenance of the Chapter Radio Room. (Requires a HAM license.)
Computer Data Entry - Enter an assortment of volunteer
information into our database program.
Facilities Worker - Assist in handling supplies,
organizing the stock room, and maintaining supplies.
Clerical Receptionist - Works at the Grants Pass office
. Answers the phone, assists clients
requesting service or health and safety information, and does general filing.

Health & Safety:
Community First Aid and Safety Instructor - Teach Red
Cross first aid courses to adults in Jackson/Josephine
counties of Oregon.

Financial Development:
Assist in fund raising events.
Computer data entry.

Office of Volunteers:
Volunteer Recruitment- Assist in recruitment, placement,
and recognition of volunteers.
Clerical work - Assist with mailing, filing, data entry,
and other clerical work. - Works at the office reception
desk, answer phones, filing, light typing, and general
office duties.
Volunteers to help in the Blood Donor Center openings
available: receptionists, escorts and canteen servers,
volunteers for our Bloodmobile in both Jackson and
Josephine County. Please call the Blood Center at 773-3813.
